BIOGRAPHY – DAT POLITICS C.Pailliot, G.Collet and V.Thierion came together as a production team in the late 90's when they created their first band Tone Rec as well as their Art platform Skipp (label and graphic design project). They released four albums under the name of Tone Rec on the Belgian Label Sub Rosa and changed their name after this experience to become DAT Politics an outlet for their more electropop tracks. Well known as a very productive, hyperactive band, DAT politics released their two first albums "Villiger" and "Tracto Flirt" almost at the same time in early 2000 on their own label Skipp and on the prestigious German label A-musik. Quickly they received demands for gigs and other releases from US (Tigerbeat6), Japan (Digital Narcis), UK (FAT CAT) as well as invitations to many compilations. They received several mentions of honour (three times in a row) at Ars Electronica, one of the most important prizes in Electronic Music for Villiger and their remix of NWA on Tigerbeat6. In 2001, they got in touch with Chicks On Speed Records. The German Electro Trash label released their "Plugs Plus" album in 2002 which spread a new breath of Electronica over France and worldwide. The press and the fans were excited and DAT Politics continued to tour the world as well as recording new music. In 2004, they released their 2nd album "Go Pets Go" followed by some extensive tours on nearly every continent for about two years. In 2006, DAT Politics released successively "Wow Twist" on Chicks On Speed Rec. and the "Are Oui Phony" EP on Tigerbeat6. Tracks like "Turn My Brain Off" and "My Toshiba is alive" became hymns for a young excited audience. The trio has played many festivals and keep on bouncing the clubs around the world. Pop Bands like Jagga Jazzist, The Blow, Architecture in Helsinki asked them to do some remixes. In 2007 DAT Politics appeared on "The Itunes Essentials" compilation between Daft Punk, Justice and Busy P. In 2008, here they are again with a new and fresh album "Mad Kit". |
